Saturday afternoon

I've got a pork roast in the oven and it's probably nearly done now. It sure is smelling good. All I did was put seasoned salt and pepper on it, cover it, and let 'er rip. We've got good leftovers to have with it so I didn't see any sense in cooking much other fresh stuff.

I brought home the turkey carcass from Thanksgiving. I'll get a big pot out and simmer that till I have a good turkey broth to use for dressing or dumplings. If nothing else, I know how to get every last bit of good out of something like that..lol. If you haven't tried this, do. Don't use smoked turkey. It makes the broth murky looking and doesn't taste as good as regular turkey does. This is just one thing I do to save a little money and get the most out of my food dollar.

I've got the dishwasher loaded, swept the kitchen, and now need to tend to laundry.
