Overseas travel?
I've never been outside of the USA in my life. Not even over the border into Canada or Mexico, even though I've been within a few hundred feet of both. I think if I was inclined to travel the world, though, there would be a few places I'd like to visit.
One place would be Amsterdam. It's rich in history and culture. It's also the home of the Rembrandt, and I really love classical works of art and this painter in particular. The city is full of museums that would take me back in time to the days of great artists.
Another interesting place would be Barcelona, with its street markets and historical monuments and museums. Barcelona overlooks the Pyrenees mountains, which I'm sure is a breathtaking sight to behold. Maybe I could take in an opera at the El Liceu opera house, or stay in a hotel built upon the model of the beautiful architecture present everywhere there.
Or, perhaps, a trip to Rome. With it being the seat of the Holy Roman Empire of the past, the birthplace of many modern forms of government, and the only city in the world to have within its borders a tiny nation (Vatican City is a country to itself), this city would take a long time to explore and enjoy. Circus Maximus, where the gladiator games were played out and the site of persecution of Christians, is an integral part of all our history. Rome also offers hotel accommodations that place you near every worthy site you can imagine that says "Rome" in a nutshell. I think I'd need several months there to take it all in!
So tell me now, where in the world would you like to go?
