Mini vacation
While it has been a few days since I posted, you should know that everything is ok here.
I've spent the last few days in the northwest corner of the state visiting a newly built museum. It's quite impressive and is full of beautiful works by American artists. It was built and is funded by the widow of a giant in the retail and low-price goods business.
We've also been touring the town where the center of this corporate giant is found. It's a pretty interesting place, with a walk-through botanical garden featuring all local plants and trees, a museum focusing on how the corporate giant got its start, and many beautiful bed-and-breakfast inns straight out of the Victorian era.
The weather has been lovely for walking about, until this afternoon, that is. That's when rain clouds blew in, downpours started, and when they were finished, a blast of arctic air hit us. Temperatures went from about 74 this morning to a quite-cold 38 tonight. The wind has kept up every day anyway, but now it's so cold one can barely stand to walk outside. Thank goodness for the warmth of my sister's camper!
