Did you gobble till you wobbled?
I tried to use some common sense this year when it came to sitting down to eat Thanksgiving dinner. I only took what I really liked on my plate, and not a whole lot of anything. When I was through eating, I was satisfied but I wasn't uncomfortably stuffed.
Of course, the menu was a huge one. Turkey, bread dressing, cornbread dressing, gravy, mashed taters, corn/greenbean dish, hot corn, cranberry sauce, ham, candied sweet potatoes, butternut squash, green bean casserole, deviled eggs, fruit salad, and a variety of pickles and olives. Dessert consisted of caramel apple nut cheesecake, oreo cheesecake, and pumpkin pie, with our choice of either spray whipped cream, fat free whipped topping, or regular whipped topping. (I didn't mention any brands for the last two, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.)
I think there were about 25 of us there altogether, and included in those numbers were various boyfriends, girlfriends, and just friends. We all had such a good time, but wished others in our family had been able to make it up there for the feast as well.
