You know, there was a time not so long ago that I didn’t really care what my PR (Page Rank) was. I didn’t even know for sure what that meant, along with other terms such as SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Of late, however, that’s changed and I’d really like my pages to rank higher in Google searches, even though they aren’t a commercial website and I’m not trying to drum up business or repeat customers.
I have learned that press releases are the most effective way to increase link popularity, but they are also the most difficult because the content of the press release needs to be interesting enough to attract readership and to engage writers to write about it. If that’s accomplished, then it’s possible to gain links from hundreds if not thousands of different websites. Even if those sites have low levels of Page Rank, they work more effectively in increasing your rankings because they produce organic results in Google.
This is where venues such as Blogitive come in. Blogs are just naturally filled with the kind of content that search engines such as Google crave. Utilizing blogs to promote your website and give you links is good money sense. It’s a form of advertising that really works.
