Christmas update

Just wanted to take a moment to let you know how we fared for Christmas as far as gifting goes.

My kids really were generous. Brandon gave me a gold chain necklace that I can put Danny's wedding ring on. It's long enough that I can wear it over my blouses or under them. Elizabeth got me two new pairs of glasses. Since she works at a vision office, she gets good deals on them and she got some that are more stylish than my other ones. I also received, from various family members, a "Bullet" food processor, a teapot that looks like an artichoke (too cute for words!), a portrait photo of Elizabeth, ear muffs and gloves, a new electric skillet (my old one is 22 years old and about done-for), a set of those "as seen on TV" storage containers that all fit on a turntable and the lids fit all of them.

While I was gone to Mama's, Brandon bought a new, small freezer from Walmart. It fits in the kitchen and is just the right size for our purposes now.

I was able to get better gifts for others than I have in years past. Included in that stuff was a new p.j. set and robe for Elizabeth, a silver cross necklace with tiny diamonds in the center, several colored tee-shirts for Brandon, a guitar stand and accessories, a Triball game, nice shirts for the other guys in the family, a spa and massage set for Jennifer, and some soft, pretty stuff from Bath & Body Works for my daughter in law. I also got various hand-held electronic games for grandkids, and other kid gifts.

I am happy that I could give more to people I love. Between working at McDonalds and doing the paid blogging, I'm paying bills and not having to scrape for every penny these days.
