Still looking for a house

Brandon found a house in the classifieds he really wants us to go look at. 4 bedroom. 3 bath. They allow small pets. However, the rent is $875 a month, and they want the first and last month before move-in.

I have to be honest and say that seems too high to afford easily. Brandon is counting on Kevin and Jesse staying on with us, but I don't want to count on that. I still have my heart set on buying some land and having a large single-wide, a double-wide, or even a cabin put on it. I will never be able to do that if we rent this house he wants and I just don't think I can stand to pay that much just to have it be rent and not my own house.
