Brandon's Chevy truck
He finally did it. Brandon bought himself an older model Chevy pickup truck Tuesday. It was cheap. I'm talking dirt cheap. $550. I'm not even sure what year model it is, but he said he thinks it's about an '89. All he has is a short bill of sale. He'll get the title for it in a couple of days from this guy's dad.
It's not pretty. It's got a lot of primer gray on it and a blue tail gate. It's huge, too. At least a 3/4 ton truck. It needs the brake lights fixed and will probably need new tires soon. Those will cost a fortune, but when you consider the low price of the vehicle, they'll be a worthwhile investment.
It's got a new motor in it, too, which makes it a bargain. It starts good and runs smoothly. It's automatic and it shifts good, too.
Brandon still hasn't gotten his license reinstated from back last year when it was suspended. Now he has the incentive to do so. We'll get a friend of ours to drive the pickup home Wednesday afternoon and Brandon can start checking to see why the brake lights aren't working then.
This isn't a vehicle he'll want to drive every day. It'll be a gas hog. But it'll certainly be useful for moving or for other duties when we need a truck instead of a car. Elizabeth is wanting to sell us her little car - a Dodge Shadow - so one of us will buy that and Brandon can use it for regular driving, like back and forth to work.
