Wandering into the realm of exhaustion
I say "wandering" because I don't think I face exhaustion at full speed these days. It just happens. Today, I'm running on empty and caffeine.
We were scheduled to work last night just until 11 PM, which is when we close. We wound up staying after that time to help the ones who were the actual closers so they could get out of there sooner. Why? Because there were only two people. The shift manager and a crew person. Another person was scheduled to close with them but she went home early...as usual.
So today, we are scheduled to work from noon to 7 PM, which may not sound bad until you consider that we didn't get home last night until around 1:30 AM or so. That doesn't leave a lot of time to unwind, sleep, shower, and go again.
Add to that for me personally, I take blood pressure medicine that makes me feel tired and drained for several hours afterward. This translates to feeling like that while I'm at work today. It's already hitting me even while I sit here and type.
