Friday night woes
One of the McDonald's stores in town needed replacement workers since four of their crew didn't show up for work for one reason or another. Now, I have to tell you, I just despise working in that store. It's not as clean as ours and the crew doesn't work as a team, the way our crew does.
Well, two crew members and myself wound up going to that store to work till 10 PM. It was just as I had expected it would be. Dirty everywhere and snotty crew members. Even the shift manager was pretty snotty.
We did what was asked of us, of course. I was on side two of assembly with one of my crew members. The other crew member was a "runner". In other words, she filled and bagged the orders for drive-thru and front counter.
When it came time that we needed a break, first another person was sent. Ok. When he came back, two others were sent. Ok. When they came back I approached the shift manager saying that we needed our break. She responded that SHE hadn't had a break yet.
Too bad.
We took our break. I could have worked on but that wasn't fair to my crew, who hadn't had a break since 3 PM and it was after 8 PM then. I wasn't about to let them misuse MY crew like that.
At 10 PM, we left. Short. Simple. To the point. "It's 10:00 and time for us to go now. Bye."
