Rain!

It's finally raining! It's even thundering, so I won't be on here for long. I'll disconnect and unplug the modem cable in just a bit. But I just had to send out a big Hooray! for the rain!

We've been without rain for several weeks now. Everything is dying around here and it almost looks like Fall, but without the blazing colors. My yard is covered with leaves from the trees around my house. The grass is all brown. It's just dismal.

We've been under a burn ban for a couple of weeks now, too. Our area has been under a "moderate drought" condition for the month of August. Combine that with several days where the temperatures exceeded 100 degrees, and you can see how bad it has been. We need several inches of rain to get out from under the burn ban in our county. I hope what's just started continues for a day or so!
