Newsletters and catalogs

Hardly a day goes by when I don't get some kind of catalog or newsletter in my mail. Did you ever wonder how these folks got your name to send you a catalog? I have. I don't really mind getting the catalogs since I have sometimes found some great places to shop with them.

Businesses find your name and address from a list broker such as MartinWorldwide.net. Martin Worldwide uses research and demographics to learn who will be interested in what. They use this information to assist businesses so they can contact potential customers. These will be customers who are most likely to make a purchasing decision for the particular product or services of a company.

Martin Worldwide studies the population and buying trends to determine which individuals or groups will be the most likely to prefer this product or that one. Their database includes over 290 million consumers and 14 million businesses in the U.S. It's no wonder they know your buying preferences and mine, with that kind of information.
