Dark and stormy

Dark and stormy is the description I'd give to the last few days. I remarked to Brandon that we are in the second monsoon season of the year, I guess. Here in Arkansas, we wind up with two very wet seasons. One in the spring, around April and May. The other at the end of the summer, September through November or so.

It's already been cloudy this morning, though the sun is out now. But this is the time of year when we'll start getting daily thundershowers. It's too bad these didn't come along last month when we were under drought conditions.

A couple of days ago it was so dark in the afternoon, around 4 PM, that the security light outside came on! I had to turn on some inside lighting as well to see in here. That was not only weird, but a bit scary. That kind of daytime darkness often indicates a severe storm that includes hail. Thankfully, we didn't get hit that hard, but it was just a little frightening until it all passed by.
