Picnic at Jacksonport
One of the things we did was to visit Jacksonport State Park and have a picnic. There's so much to tell about this small town and its historical significance that one post won't cover it all. So, I'm starting with the picnic.
We arrived just before noon Sunday and went straight to the picnic area to have lunch. The museums didn't open until 1 PM anyway, so there was plenty of time. We enjoyed a lunch of salad, chocolate cake, and fruit mix with Cool Whip on it.
This is a picture of Mom and me at the picnic table. You can see a bit of the river in the background. The picnic area was lovely and even though the temperature was pretty warm, the breeze was cool enough to keep us comfortable.
It's been unseasonably warm these first few days of October. The weatherman predicts it will cool down to more seasonable temperatures later in the week. At least it didn't rain for this picnic!
