Including the kitchen sink
I do wash some dishes by hand. Things like my cast iron skillets and my good kitchen knives all get washed in the sink. The dishwasher causes iron to rust and it dulls my knives. Of course, there are a few other items that I don't like to wash in the dishwasher, too.
The kitchen sink I have, though, is pretty ordinary. It's also very small. Yes, it's a double sink with a sprayer, but the sinks just aren't as deep as the nice Franke Sinks found at Faucet.com. In the summer, when I want to wash greens for cooking, I have to wash them in several batches because I can't get very much into the sink at one time.
If I got a place of my own, I'd definitely have larger kitchen sinks installed. Preferably, stainless steel for easy cleaning.
