Working away from home
I am not at home right now. I'm in another town where several of us from McDonald's are staying in a motel. We worked earlier today at a new store that's been put in a Walmart in this town, and because we had to be back here early in the morning, our supervisor made room reservations for 10 of us.
See, it's snowing and the predicted snowfall could be up to 10 inches. The good thing now is that it's still 36 degrees outside, which means part of it will melt off the roads even as it falls. However, if the temperature goes down to freezing, well, of course the roads will freeze over and become dangerous to drive on.
We are only about 5 miles from the store where we'll be working, but even that short distance could be dicey if the roads freeze over.

It's always fun to stay in a motel. Now, my recent experience with one in early February wasn't so good as it was run down and there was a live roach in the fridge! So, this week when I chose to stay in one, I upgraded to a Best Western. It was about $30 more a night, but was so nice and had a hot breakfast!

Our room had a small coffee maker, which I really appreciated this morning! Of course, you know I'm just such a homebody that I'd rather be at my house when bedtime comes...lol. I'm so glad I invested in the laptop, though. It gave me a chance to still do some blogging and emailing after we checked in.

I love my laptop! When I use it at home, though, I plug a keyboard and a mouse into it. LOL! I got it at Wal*Mart at Christmas for $400. I take it to church and edit the pastor's sermon (for the website) as he is preaching. LOL!
I know about wanting to be home in your own bed. I went to a Newsboys Concert the other night and I was yawning and decided to go on home.

I paid $449 for mine at Best Buy on sale. It was around $700 original price, so I got a good deal on it. I also bought extra RAM for it, and may get more! LOL I don't plug anything into it other than the aircard, the charger, and laptop cooler, even when I'm at home. Well, unless I'm putting pictures from my camera on it, anyway.
