Another bad tire

So, I'm on the way to work at 4 a.m. a couple of days ago when my truck starts pulling hard to the left and making a lot of noise. I was having a flat. It didn't blow out but it was going down fast. I kept driving till I got just into the edge of Town, at a church parking lot. I called Son and in about 15 minutes he and a friend were there.

They put on the spare tire. However, it was taller than the other tire on the front so I said for Son to keep the truck and get a tire put on that would match or figure something out so the tire sizes would be the same. It took almost all day!

To save a little money, I told him to find a good used tire for now. He shopped around at the various tire stores in the area. Guess what? This is such a common tire size that they hardly ever have any used ones on hand - people snap them up in a hurry. He finally did find one. It was $40. Used tires were around $20 in the past so this took a bigger chunk of my money than I'd expected. It's a pretty good tire, though, and still didn't cost what the tire did last month when we stopped on the way to Mississippi to get one.

If you remember, just last week I had to spend over $40 on a truck repair that I wasn't expecting. Now this tire thing. The two things took a big bite out of my budget!
