Renewing family friendships

I am so happy that I joined a popular social networking site awhile back. Why? Because recently I've found found several family members there that I hadn't seen in many years!

I can remember when we were teens and the fun we had. But, you know how it is...life goes on and things change. People get married, move away, get jobs that keep them too busy to stay in contact. Now, we are all in the age bracket where car insurance is the cheapest it'll ever be.

It always makes me think of the comment Kathy Bates made in Fried Green Tomatoes, after two young hotties said they were younger and better looking. They had whipped into a parking spot she was heading for when they made the comment. It made the Bates character so mad that she rammed their car over an over again until it was scrap metal. She then said to them, "I'm older and have more insurance", and drove away, smiling.

I've felt like that sometimes myself!

I'm really hoping we can all get back together for a reunion in the near future. We're all older, but I think we could still have a lot of fun!
