Younger Daughter's shower
Younger Daughter had a very nice shower today. I had to work this morning, so I brought clothes with me to wear to the shower, in case I didn't get off in time to go home and get ready. It turned out that I didn't, so bringing clothes was a good idea.
The weather today was beautiful, after we all worried about last night's storms that moved across the state producing more tornadoes.
I got to the location about 15 minutes early and visited with the few who were already there. Daughter arrived a few minutes before 2. We visited on the person's lovely covered back deck for awhile, then moved indoors for some food. The hostess had prepared chicken on a smoker grill, shish-ka-bobs, brats, and hot dogs on the charcoal grill. There were baked beans, potato salad, and some chips, crackers and dips already on the table inside.
We enjoyed the food, followed by chocolate dipped strawberries for a sort of pre-dessert. Daughter's fiance joined us later, and the two of them shared in opening the gifts. Some of his family members took pictures so there will be plenty for her album.
After the gift opening, a lovely cake was served all around. More visiting was followed by loading all the gifts into a couple of vehicles to take back to Daughter's home. She got a lot of the things that were on her registry, and there will be more to come because it hasn't all shipped to the local chain discount store yet.
A little after 4 p.m., the guests began leaving. I left around that time as well, and headed back to Town to surf the internet a bit before I headed home.
