Sudden reunion
What a wonderful Sunday I had! Older Daughter called me to say she, her husband and some of our long-lost relatives were in town at a local buffet restaurant. She asked if I wanted to join them. Of course I did!
I'd been sorting through boxes all morning and was pretty rumpled, so I changed clothes, washed my face, and headed into Big Town. I had a lovely meal there from the buffet, but what really made it so nice was seeing the mother and her daughter there.Of course, having Sis' daughter and some of her family just rounded it all out. There were still a few nieces and nephews missing from the gathering, and I hope they can eventually join us in a big family get-together. But it was great seeing these two, meeting their spouses, and having lots of laughs around the table.
After lunch, several of us decided to go to another nephew's home (Sis' older son) for an impromptu family reunion. Besides the relatives we hadn't seen in so long, Sis' daughter, granddaughter, and granddaughter's children joined us. Soon after we arrived, another long-lost niece showed up with her significant other and her children.
The girls' mother and step-dad decided not to join us. I think probably because it was announced we'd be playing a game of "extreme dodge ball". We wound up not playing that game, as it turned windy and quite chilly before we gathered. But, we all had such a fun visit anyway and determined that we would repeat this kind of visit as often as possible.
