Friday back home
Had a good four days with Mom. I'm so blessed we still have her with us, and I wouldn't miss these day when I visit her for anything. I wish I lived closer so I could see her even more.
We slept a little late this morning. Had breakfast of slices of my homemade bread with cream cheese and hot cups of coffee. After the storm yesterday and the all-night drizzle, the warm bread and hot coffee hit the spot.
I dug through Mom's bookshelves, looking for a particular book that neither of us has seen in years. She allows it might even be in a box of books up in her closet, but wants my brother-in-law to hoist them down for us at some future point. I did find some nice gardening books, though, and Mom said I should have them to keep since she isn't able to garden anymore.
We then went to Sis' house where we awaited her return. I moved my vehicle to where I thought it would be out of the way when they pulled in with the camper. Later in the morning, they called and had me move it over to the other side of the driveway, instead.
They arrived home around 11:30, unloaded a few things out of the camper, then we all sat down to lunch. After lunch, we watched some shows Sis had recorded on the DVR. She started the after-camping laundry, then we all just relaxed in front of the TV.
Supper was this and that -- things that were leftover from the past few days and from the camping trip. Brother-in-law had put two 40-lb. boxes of sweet potatoes in the back of my truck. One is for me and the other is for Sis' son.
After supper and saying our good-byes, I headed home. The trip home was uneventful, which is just how I like it. Son and I chatted a bit, then I got ready for bed because I need to be up early to go to work at 6 AM.
