A Wedding for my Daughter
Yes, my daughter. She's 19 and in love, and I expect that very soon we'll be planning a wedding. Not a huge formal affair, mind you. He's a good guy but not much for the real fancy stuff. I'm sure they'd rather spend money on the honeymoon.
Not all brides and grooms have such simple tastes, though. So, here's a site that shows you so very much about planning a wedding and honeymoon. Whether it's your wedding or you're helping someone else, this could be the right service for you. They are experts in planning weddings and go into great detail with all aspects of it.
We all probably have some basic knowledge of wedding planning, but what about details such as poetry, quotes, and vows, etiquette, traditions, and most important - the wedding budget! You can find all this information on this very extensive site and it's free to use. Visit while you're planning so you can get all the details of your wedding solidified. Then, you can relax and really enjoy the day.
I can just imagine it now. A beautiful, springtime wedding. I can visualize it outside, maybe at a lovely park where there are lots of trees, soft green grass, and blooming flowers all around. A platform with a flower covered archway leading to it will be where the preacher and the bride and groom will stand. The preacher conducts the ceremony and the couple recites the vows. Then they turn to face one another and recite their own poems or love letters to each other.
I can see little flower girls with flowered and beribboned headbands, tossing rose petals on the path to the platform. I can just hear an organist on a portable keyboard, playing the wedding march. The chairs, covered in white and decorated with tulle bows, are arranged in several rows of semi-circles so that all can view the ceremony. Perhaps a singer sings the couple's favorite love song.
I can see the bride in a Victorian style gown - long train and long veil with pearls scattered about on it. The groom, handsome as ever, in a white tuxedo, waiting with his best man as his future wife makes her way slowly up the green-grass aisle. The bride's mother (that's me) and her brother give her away in lieu of her father, who passed away. Her other two brothers and her sister are part of the wedding party, and the nieces and nephews of both the bride and groom are flower girls, ring bearer, escort, and serve at the reception tables.
Grandmothers, aunts, and uncles along with close friends fill the audience of witnesses to the happy event. They've come from near and far to attend and watch this as this union is formed before God and man.

Yes, for reals. Not sure when and it may be that she'll announce "Josh and I got married." They are working on building a little cabin behind his grandmother's house not far from here. And his grandmother has said that when she retires she plans to give Josh her place and get herself a new mobile home. She's living in an older double wide now.
