A full day off!

And it's dark, cold, and rainy. It makes me just want to go back to bed, but I'm up and I'll stay up for at least awhile.

I'm learning to knit, so my mind is occupied with that for the moment. I'm just going back and forth on "something". It's not really a project. Just a practice piece. And it looks like it was done by the hands of a child since it's not very even or smooth. But I'm learning and though this piece looks rough, I know that with enough practice I'll have lovely knitted fabric. It will probably never be as beautiful as my friend Cass' projects, but that's a goal I can work toward, isn't it?

This dreary, chilly weather really is perfect for knitting or crocheting, though. For those who don't do either, you should know that working with yarns can make you quite warm in the summer months. There's something about yarns across your hands and lap that heats you up. So I wind up doing more yarn work in the cooler months. Well, with the exception of weaving since it isn't "on" me as much.
