Cheapskates'r'us

That's what I should nickname myself. I hate to spend any more money than absolutely necessary (who does?) and I'm always looking for ways to save even more. For instance, I now have those little swirly looking flourescent bulbs all through my house in every light fixture. They're only 13 watts each and give off the light of a 60 watt incandescent bulb. That translates into savings on my electric bill. Plus, the bulbs are supposed to last for 5 years, yet another savings feature.

I also try to save fuel when I drive my car. I don't use the AC if I can tolerate the temps without it. I don't even use my defroster more than a minute or two because it works off of the AC compressor. I bet yours does, too. The AC compressor kicks on and dehumidifies the windshield, removing the moisture so you can see out. I try to keep trips to a minimum and I try to consolidate several errands into one trip. That saves some gas, too.

I'd like to save even more gas, since the prices are rising again. They've gone up .06 a gallon here in the past week. So I wonder if a Tornado Fuel Saver would be of benefit to me?

They claim it increases gas mileage 7 to 28% and boosts horsepower 4 to 13. It's supposed to be easy to install - 2 to 5 minutes - and has no moving parts that can wear out. It works by being attached to the air intake and causing the incoming air to swirl and twirl, increasing the atomization of the fuel thus making your car more fuel efficient and better running. They say this also reduces emissions, which is always a good thing.

I'd like to find out if anyone around here has used one and ask them how they like it. How 'bout it. Anyone out there been using one of these? I'd really like to know! It sounds like a really good thing to install if it's all it's cracked up to be. Every little bit I can save on gas is more in my wallet to use for other purposes.
