Online safe deposit box

When I saw those words, I thought the same thing you're probably thinking. "How can you put things in an online safe deposit box?" Well, when I went to the site, here's what I found out.

The Online Safe Deposit Box works by allowing you to store vital information, scanned digital copies of important documents, such as Insurance, medical records, identification such as a birth certificate or passport, or other identification. They claim to be hacker proof and highly secure. You can access the site and download your documents from any computer in the world, and the service is completely free for one year for a small sized version of the safe deposit box. They also have a larger permanent box which you can upgrade to for as little as $3 a month.

If you have, through some disaster, lost your important documents and numbers, you can download the numbers and the digital copies of your document so that you now have a secure way to store and retrieve them. You can also share your information with family members so they can access the documents in the event you are unable to. Your private password is the "key" for unlocking the box.

In this digital age, this might be the next wave of security devices to help protect ourselves in cases of storm or other disasters.
