Speaking of money
Except for buying that car recently, I've been able to keep my budget in the black without having to resort to any sort of loans. I'm glad of that since I would like to be debt free completely, which would include no car payment. It may be, however, that I will eventually need to get a loan for the purchase of land or a home. That would be the only other reason I can think of that I'd want a loan and that sort of debt.
If I can't qualify for secured loans for a land or home purchase, then I may have to find a rent-to-own situation. I really don't want to spend the rest of my life renting from someone and I'd like to pay off any other loan for a home in 10 to 15 years. That means it'd have to be pretty cheap to buy!
I can remember as a child that my father would occasionally go to the bank and get personal loans and how hard it was for my parents to pay them back. I don't want to be in that same situation, so I'm very careful with my money, with my purchases, and with my debt.
In this day and age, and with job security gone the way of the dinosaur, I think we'd all do well to limit the amount and number of loans we have so that if the job goes down the tube, we aren't left with a handful of debt and no way to pay it back.
