I'm still sitting here drinking coffee and reading stuff online. Bad me. I really need to be up from here so I can tidy the kitchen, check laundry status, and probably run a load of dishes in the dishwasher.

No. First I need to brine the chicken then I'm doing all that other stuff. FYI, brining chicken really improves the flavor and moisture. All you do is put the chicken into a bowl, cover with water, then sprinkle a half cup or more of salt all over it. The salt disperses through the water and it's soaked up by the chicken. Then, when you fry it, very little other seasoning is needed and the chicken tends to stay moist and tender.
