Something for Sassy
I finally found a toy at PetSmart that Sassy can chew and get the squeaker to make a sound. I went there today looking for possibly a toy that had long legs and a squeaker in the "hand" she could easily bite. However, all the long-legged toys had squeakers in the tummies.
Why is this a problem? Sassy is mostly Shih Tzu. She has a very short muzzle and mouth, so toys that are too far across are hard for her to get that "squeak reward" from. She plays with them, but doesn't even know there's more to them than just tossing them around.
A few weeks ago at my Mom's, she finally made her blue bear squeak. We cheered! lol I kept squeaking it for her and she'd try again. Then she just started giving it to me to make it squeak. She's so funny.
Since then, though, she hasn't been able to repeat that, though. But today, with this new, smaller toy, she got the "squeak reward" and has now given it the honored position of living on the sofa with her.
