Career move
I'm staying where I'm at for awhile, at least, until I feel the whole job has run its course and I can no longer advance. In the meantime, perhaps I should be looking at furthering my education. I can apply at a local college for adult courses on a part time basis, or I can look into online education. Going online would mean I could work the courses into my schedule as I see fit. I would need to find out if the business classes I've already taken for McDonald's could be used to offset some hours first.
The more I'm involved in management, the more interested I'm becoming in business and marketing. However, I don't have any sort of degree and that could definitely hold me back from other job opportunities. For instance, Heifer is hiring but I'm certain I'd need some kind of degree in order to qualify for a position there. It would be an interesting and worthwhile place to work, I think.
This means my next step should really involve contacting places like the local college and Capella to find out what courses are available and what I can afford to get into. I need to research funding options, as well. Capella is a fully accredited online university and has been around since 1993, which is like an eternity in cyber-time.
