Job update
I've been officially transferred to the store in the Other City. It's more driving, but so much less stress that I really don't care if I have to drive farther.
The other McDonald's doesn't have nearly the business volume that a regular one does. Most of the customers wind up being employees of Walmart, taking their breaks and lunch times. The shoppers that stop in generally have their food to go and just take it home with them.
The menu there is a bit more limited because of lack of space to store a full menu, but we still have most of the items any other McDonald's has. Some of the prices are a little higher, too. That takes people by surprise, but as far as I know, all our stores that are within another store have higher prices. Still, nothing is so high priced that it's ridiculous to buy when someone wants lunch or a snack.
We're able to keep our production times very low simply because of the low volume. And, we need fewer employees on a shift.
My supervisor has placed me "second in command" there, and I should be seeing a pay raise pretty soon because of that. I am really hoping to be salaried. It requires more hours, but only about 5 more than I work now anyway and the pay is nearly double what I currently make. That would certainly help my budget!

That's wonderful news Ann! I hope that you do get on as a salaried manager. You've certainly worked hard since you started to learn everything you can, and I'm sure the "higher-ups" notice that, and appreciate your dedication.

I think my supervisor is noticing my work and integrity to perform my job to the best of my ability. I like my job so much better now that I'm in the smaller store!
