End of April unseasonably warm

I can't believe this month is almost over. I also can't believe the high temperatures we're already having. Yesterday, it got up to 98 degrees here and today it's 81 with overcast skies.

We did get a thunder shower last night, late. Maybe it was really this morning. I'm satisfied that the hot afternoon temperatures spawned it. We began getting clouds before sunset and I suppose that held the hot air in and caused the storms to develop. I saw in the news that Texas had tornadoes. I also saw that we had tornadoes about 100 miles south of where I live. I'm just glad nothing like that developed around here!

It's overcast again to day so I figure it will rain pretty soon again. Our saturated ground really can't take much more rain. Farm fields around here remain flooded and the creeks and river are high.
