Ice storm saga continued

Early Saturday Morning

I heard from Son last night. He worked at my store last night. He said they closed 3 hours early due to the bad weather conditions. He told me by phone text that there was at least 4 inches of ice and snow in Town. I think there's about that much around my house, too.

I am supposed to work tonight, but if the roads aren't much improved there's no way to get into Town from way out here without risking a wreck or at the very least, sliding off into a ditch and being stuck. I'll know more about the road conditions later in the day, I'm sure.

I'm glad I laid in plenty of supplies for an event like this. I've been able to stay warm, comfortable, and well fed throughout it all. I've even stayed somewhat occupied by getting all my tax return info compiled into an Excel spreadsheet that I can print off and present to the tax preparer when it's time. I think Son's xbox is in the next room, so I probably should have been looking for his xbox accessories so I'd have a little something else to do with all this spare time!

Other than that, I've stayed busy baking some biscuits and sweet potatoes, keeping coffee made for myself, and watching movies or listening to the radio. The only problem I've had is feeling stiff and achy. That's either because of the extreme weather or because I'm so used to working that my body is rebelling through this hiatus.
