Trying to get the herbs growing again

My poor herbs. I have been able to cut and dry a few of them, but being mowed down really set them back a lot. I've been watering like crazy, yet they wilt much faster than they did before. You can see the dead undergrowth, too.

I'm thinking I may need to dose them up with hgh to get them up to the level they were before. At this rate, I won't have much for over the winter and I certainly won't have any mints for making mint jelly.

I had planned to make some sage smudging sticks, too. When you burn them, they have an astoundingly pleasant odor. But poor sage is really stunted now.
