Staying at my job
Some of you know that I had turned in my two week notice at my job. Well, my supervisor came and talked to me. We had about a two hour discussion over the reasons why I was leaving. She convinced me to stay.
I have to admit, I didn't look forward to leaving my job. I am good at it and know it well, inside and out. There were some things, though, that were stressing me out to a point where I felt like I wasn't really as effective as I should be. She told me that I was absolutely effective and one of the best managers she has. Even my direct superior, the general manager of the store, told her that I do a very good job.
That was all good to hear. I think people need to be given kudos every so often. A raise in money is great, but most people work for recognition even more than money. Knowing you are doing well in your position helps you hold out longer. Raises will come in time, and on a regular basis.

I'm glad to hear that you were able to work things out at your current job, and not have to leave and find another one. Job hunting is not fun (at least in my opinion!) And kuddos on the encouragement and praise you received from your supervisors. It's always nice when you hear that your efforts are noticed and appreciated!
