Portable connectivity

Enter the world of ipods. It seems like everybody has one now, and they do all kinds of things with them. Son has one that he can use to even send text messages to my phone. He doesn't have a cell phone right now, but that's the next best thing. He just uses our wifi connection.

The folks I know who have them are pretty keen on them. I don't have one yet, and I'm not sure if I ever will. But, who knows? It could happen at some point. I might be able to do a lot more, in a lot more locations, with an ipod than just depending on my cell phone and my laptop.

It's an interesting thought, anyway, isn't it? Do you have one? How do you like it? What do you use it for?
