Venison

I worked a later shift today, which meant getting home when it was just getting dark. I'm not so sure I like the change back to standard time since before 6 PM, it's already dark now. But, I suppose I'll get used to it.

I probably would have gotten home earlier if I hadn't stopped by a friend's house to pick up some venison she offered to me while we were at work together. I chatted with her for several minutes before I finally headed on home, which meant it was absolutely dark when I got here.

However, the short delay was worth it since she generously gave me about 20 pounds of deer meat -- roasts, tenderloin, ground, and frying pieces. We took a pack of the ground deer meat out before we put the rest in the freezer. Tomorrow, we'll have deer chili. I had some beans in the freezer already, so all we'll need to do is throw other ingredients together. I'm really looking forward to it!
