Friday morning update
It's been a busy few days. I'm working at McD now, of course, and I'm really
liking the schedule. I'm learning the job and know more every day. They are
so patient with me while they're teaching me things. It's hard for old
ladies like me to learn new things very quickly..LOL But I'm beginning to
catch on.
I don't mind throwing myself in there and doing what's necessary to keep
things clean and cooked for customers. I also enjoy the customers and find
that most people are friendly if you just start with a smile. My boss is
also a very effective leader in the store without being an ogre. I like her
a lot.
I think the hardest part of it all is the register. I'm having to ask for
help pretty often, it seems. Last night was my third time on front counter
and there are a couple of things I only just figured out!
I was taught assembly last night, too. I'm fumbly and slow making sandwiches
and still learning what's what, but getting there. Mostly I'm enjoying the
new challenge of this job. I think anyone would be surprised how much goes
into working at/running a fast food place like McD.
Here at home, I still haven't gotten my rhythm yet but it's getting better.
I'm fixing Brandon and myself a good lunch every day. For instance, yesterday I
fixed a seasoned pork loin roast, cole slaw, baked beans, and honey wheat
bakery bread that I sliced and toasted. I had put onion soup mix, seasoned
pepper, some bbq sauce in the crock pot with the roast and we used the
drippings like au jus` and made little sandwiches with the meat and slaw.
There's plenty left for our lunch today, too.
I'm keeping the laundry and dishes done, plus every day I try to do at least
one other household project like cleaning ceiling fans, washing bedding,
sweeping through, cleaning the bathroom, etc.
I also get on the computer for awhile in the morning and deal with auctions
at eBay or This Little Piggy. I write in my blogs, too, so a lot of the time
you can go read those to really catch up on what I'm up to.
I probably need to pencil a daily schedule to be a better steward of my
time. I still haven't allowed time for fiber arts, and I'm anxious to get my
fingers into some new yarn and crochet thread I got at the church yard sale!
Today, I need to get some books I listed out of the living room and back to
the bedroom, then get the rest of the living room tidied. It needs
straightening and dusting and sweeping.
Eccl 3:14
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
