Mississippi news - Part 3
Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for the day. First we headed to Walmart (a place I hate to go but it was open) to get some food items for the get-together. I also wanted to pick up little gifts for each of Danny's brothers and sisters.
I found a very pretty dark red poinsettia plant to take to the cemetary, too. This is the first time I've been able to go visit Danny's grave, and I wasn't sure how the three of us would feel or react there.
We headed to the cemetary. It's right next to a little church and was nearly blocked by cars to the point I had a hard time finding a place to park. But I did park and we went to the grave. We scooped the dirt a little bit so we could set the potted plant in a bit of a hole and pushed the dirt back around it. Maybe it won't get blown over so easily.
There's no headstone yet. The kids and I are going to try to get one after the first of the year. This is something we REALLY want to do ourselves.
Anyway, we were ok there. Somber and quiet, of course, but ok. I wish I could go to the grave more often, though, and put flowers on it.
