MYOB

Mind Your Own Business. No, I don't mean go away. I mean that's what I'd like to be involved in. Minding my own business in the form of a little local shop. I realize it's a lot of hard work running your own business, but I can also see how the results would be so very satisfying. I've thought about several kinds for awhile now. A book store with a reading room and coffee/desserts. A bait shop. A family oriented movie rental store. Maybe even a craft store which also sells supplies.

To do one of these, I'd still need some equipment and up-to-date technology so that record keeping, inventory, sales, and taxes would be processed in a way that I wouldn't have to dig through shoe boxes to find important paperwork. An important investment might be point of sale software, which would go a long way toward accomplishing the record keeping for me. MerchantOS actually replaces the old cash register system or software and serves the merchant directly. And it seems to cover all the bases.

I found the site to be easy to navigate and quick loading. A huge plus for me since I'm on dial-up. They offer the first month of service free, and the monthly prices are really pretty reasonable. They even offer a service for very small businesses absolutely free. That's a deal I can live with for sure!

Yep, this one's going in the Bookmarks.
