Florida rental vacation

We're off work Monday. Well, all but Barbara. She works noon to 6 PM, so I'll need to take her and pick her back up again. That got me to thinking about how hard it might be to take an actual vacation, even for just a few days. It seems like I never really get a whole day when I don't have to go somewhere around here. Maybe what I should do is request several days off in a row and take a real vacation. But to where?

Maybe Florida would be a good choice since it's mighty chilly the past few days around here. In fact, we actually had a light frost the other night. I'm getting pretty sick of the chilly weather and am craving warm days with no work - only doing what I choose to do. I suppose the best way to accomplish that would be to book a Florida rental vacation so that I could stay in home-like accommodations. It surely would be comfortable that way, and far more restful than the normal motel or hotel stay. And it would probably be the only way I could truly have days off without being bothered by work schedules or being called in to work because somebody else didn't show up.
