Family interests

I am so thankful to have reconnected with family members the past few months. They are nieces and nephews that were growing up when my older children were growing up, and they all knew each other. We gathered for family dinners and celebrations before everyone grew up and started their own lives. That's when we began to drift apart.

My nieces and nephews have diverse and interesting lives now. Even great nieces and nephews, now grown and raising families, are joining in with these impromptu family reunions. I'm always surprised to find what new interests these "kids" have. One niece works at an athletic club. One is going to school for nursing. A great niece and even my youngest daughter now love atv riding and outdoor sports. A nephew and a couple of great nieces are heavily into gardening and have wonderful produce home grown.

It's fun to read their posts on a well known social networking site. If it hadn't been for that site, I don't know if I ever would have connected with some of them! The internet can really be helpful in this way.
