Great Tuesday off

This turned out to be a pretty good day off.

I acquired a nice blue rug juniper from someone who was wanting to get rid of it. Brought it home and let the roots soak in water while I dug a hole for it. Then, I filled the hole with water and put the shrub in it, scooping dirt around the roots. Then I watered it deeply again. This is really the only way to move mature plants at this time of the year. I'll water it really well until it becomes established.

Later, I heard from a niece who said one of my nephews, who lives now in Texas, was in town and did I want to meet up with them? Of course! Another niece came with them and we went out for ice cream, then to visit a friend. At the end of the visit, we all hugged and said our good-byes. I really wish all my family lived close by. I miss seeing them.

It used to be that we were all pretty close and had a lot of fun. We still have fun when we can get together, and it's great.

Yes, it was a full day but a very satisfying. I had fun.
