Scrumptious spaghetti
Home made spaghetti sauce...full of delicious flavor with no funny stuff.
I made some earlier today and added shiitake mushrooms and wine, along with my organically home grown basil and oregano. I was able to snip off a little Italian parsley, too, from what was left after the Mower Guy devastation. After simmering it for awhile, I cooked up some spaghetti noodles and feasted on a lunch fit for a queen.
The mushrooms are grown in a town about 40 miles north of me and sold by a local produce seller who has a nice farm nearby. Shiitake mushrooms have a more earthy flavor to them, so they blend in well with the tomato sauce and other ingredients. I use them as a replacement for meat, since I rarely use meat at home.
I'd give you the recipe for the sauce if I had one, but this is one of those things I do "by feel and taste". When it's right, it's right.
Now I'm trying to decide if I want to take pictures of things to list on eBay, or take a nap.
