Busy weeks - camping vacation
It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, but not all the busy-ness has been bad. For one thing, I took off for vacation for a few days and had a great time with my Mom, Sis, Brother-in-law, Dog-in-law, and my Dog. Oh, yeah, my Cat-nieces and Cat-nephew. It was a bit crowded sounding, but wasn't really all that bad in their camper.
The Cats all had their little condos to stay in and the dogs just lazed about most of the time. They are both small dogs, so it worked out very well for them. My Dog really enjoyed the trip, with long nature walks and plenty of fresh air and sunshine.
One long walk we took, though, got the best of her and I wound up carrying her part of the way back to the camper. She started out well enough -- on her leash, darting back and forth in front of me, sniffing out new territory, and all. By the time we started back, her head and tail were drooping and she kept tugging to take a shortcut back to the camper! I just picked her up and carried her the final leg of the walk. When we got back, she plopped down on the floor and was snoozing before you knew it. I don't think I've ever seen her that done in.
This was basically a trout fishing trip for us, which I'll offer more details in upcoming posts. We stayed at one of our beautiful state parks. I love those places. There are always programs of various kinds going on, given by park interpreters, so that if you have down time and want to engage in them, you can. You learn some new things and find that they make your stay in the outdoors even more special.
I took a lot of pictures, some of which I posted on a popular social networking site already. But, I'll repost them here, too, so you can see for yourself what a gorgeous area we camped in.
