Just Another Trip To The Grocery Store?

In a household like mine it is no big thing to go grocery shopping. In fact, this can be an all day affair for my family as we have been known to shop around and get the best deals. My husband and I get the whole family involved. Our son Jake likes to be in charge of the coupons and my daughter Lauren always reminds my to make a list.

We have a few rules when we leave the house. We always set our Home Security alarm prior to leaving for our grocery shopping trip. Soon after that we all pack into the car and head to our first store. we hit the A&P and Shoprite. we stock up on bread, eggs and milk and peanut butter.

I must say that my husband does not like the processed foods as much as the children do. I am getting a little ahead of myself here. Let me explain, we go to the grocery store about twice a week and last tuesday we had planned just another trip to the store.

As we were leaving the A&P there was this little old lady standing in the parking lot and she was throwing rocks at this teenage boy and his friends. At this point we were not sure what was happening so my husband, who has his hands on the shopping cart starts to ask the lady what happened.

This sweet lady tells us that the boys had tried to grab her purse and she was throwing rocks at them to get them away from her. My husband was not sure what to think at this point. So, Larry - my husband walks over to the kids and they start to get nasty to him and try to start a fight with him. One of the kids throws a punch that misses larry's face. That is when Larry picked up a whole container of processed chicken nugets and started to throw them at the boys for no reason except maybe anger.

The next thing I know my daughter yells across the parking lot: "Hey Dad, break out the donuts...here come the cops."
