Camping pictures
As you can see by these pictures, we were in a most beautiful piece of heaven during that week.
The river comes from under a hydroelectric dam, which means when they are generating power, the river will rise as they let more water through. Otherwise, it's pretty shallow. It's a perfect habitat for trout, which love the very cold water, but other game fish cannot survive in those temperatures. So, the fishing is for trout all the time there. When the river is up, you can't wade out. The current is too strong and the water is too deep for that.
It seems like they generated almost continually the week we were there, which was disappointing. But we still fished from the bank and from a pier. Others went out in boats, which is probably a really good idea since you can then get to the channels and holes in the river where the trout hang out.
The hikes and treks worked like Lipofuze on the body, as long as you didn't eat too much when you got back to camp. Having worked on my feet the past few years meant I was ok as far as the hiking went. I probably had more troubles after I sat for awhile since I'd get a little stove up after long periods of sitting.
