Local drilling

There are more and more oil/gas rigs around here than ever before. It was believed that their fracking was causing earthquakes. Some have also suggested that the wells and the way they get to the fossil fuels might also play a part in ruining some folks' water sources, especially water wells in the area. There is controversy on both sides, and I personally have no real idea who's right.

So far, our water has been clean and sweet from our well, and I'm glad for that. I wonder, though, as the drillers get closer to us, if I will need a reverse osmosis water filter system in place in order to continue enjoying our well water? It's really something to think about. I don't want to tie into the community water system. Besides being expensive to do so, it means another bill every month for water that's full of chemicals that are supposed to purify it.
