Sunday, 9/11

What a somber day this is, or should be. We need to remember this is the anniversary of the day our country was, without provocation, attacked. This is the day our enemies danced with joy in the streets when they learned the toll the attackers had exacted. This is the day to remember the field in Pennsylvania where American civilians bravely stood up to the enemy on their flight, knowing all too well it surely meant their deaths.

When is the last time you or I stood up, risked death, to fight for our country? When is the last time we thought that Freedom and Morality were more important than the economy? When is the last time we were willing to sacrifice anything at all, do without some creature comforts, get by on a little less so that the greater good could be served? When is the last time we said "Here, take mine" instead of "I want what's mine"? When is the last time a man's character mattered more than his ability to speechify, to soothe the masses with promises that will never be met, and to smile slyly in order to dupe us into believing he was a stand-up guy? When is the last time that we demanded a leader to toe the line morally and ethically, and didn't excuse lies, immoral behavior, and downright sleaziness just because he *seemed* to care?

This is OUR country. Our fathers and and grandfathers fought, sometimes died, to guarantee us the freedom to speak, to worship, to know the truth, to pursue our goals, to defend ourselves, to engage freely in business, and to educate our own children according to our own moral compass.

Nothing's happening today, though, that wasn't already prophesied in the Bible. Pick it up. Dust it off. Read it. You'll see.
Matt 24:4-12
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
KJV

As for us here, I haven't posted in a couple of days. Not much new to report really so I am thinking every other day or so will be often enough unless something new comes to light.

Other than just being tired (both of us, really), things are going along pretty much the same as in earlier posts. Remember us in your prayers.

James 5:14-16
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
KJV
