Labor Day

We did the usual things for a holiday like this. We put out the flag. We cooked burgers and chicken on the grill. Made potato salad and pasta salad and apple cobbler. It was like a normal day. We really enjoyed it. Danny and I even watched a movie this afternoon before it was time to fire up the grill.

We had a three day reprieve from doctor visits and radiation, but it starts again in the morning. We should also learn what Friday's X-ray told the doctor. I'm praying it's not what he thinks it could be, but if so then I trust God to guide this doctor into the best treatment for it.

While we're out tomorrow, we'll get the tag sticker for Brandon's little truck.

This is shaping up to be a busy week but at least the radiation appointments are now in the mornings. That means we should be able to get things done and be home before lunch - before it gets hot. It also means a chance to rest before doing evening chores.

We are looking forward to another visit from some of Danny's family members on Thursday. I know seeing them will make him feel better. I'm so glad they're able to come over here since we aren't able to go there at this time.

You know, the outpouring of prayers, cards, emails, and more is astounding. If I never knew before that God will work on people's hearts to extend themselves to others (and I did know that), then I surely know it now.

Ann, thank you for always finding a way to mention God and encouraging others in your updates.

Ann, this is from a sermon titled "When you don't know what to do" Based on II Cronicles 20.

King Jehoshaphat was up against three different armies at the same time. Defeat looked certain, the odds were overwhelming.

v12. "For we have no power to face this vast army (disease) that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you Lord."

v15. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army (disease). For the battle is not yours, but God's"

Everything about this sermon reminded me of you and Danny. How even through this you have kept your focus on God.

Everyone here is still praying. I hope you can find some "peace" in all of the trumoil you must be feeling.

    Love Janelle
