Tuesday catching up

I can't believe it's been nearly a week since I posted here. I've been trying to stay busy.

I've worked on the bedroom. I painted it, put in a few shelves, and have a lot of books on them. I also set up a sewing area in there. There's a large chest of drawers that needs cleaning out. It's mostly got kids' stuff in the drawers so I'll let them take care of that. I can use the chest for storing craft supplies, I think. Still need to tweak it a bit in there, vacuum, stuff like that. But basically it's coming together quite nicely for a workroom for various things.

I've begun painting the bathroom and moving a few things around in there. One large shelf that's in there could be better used in the bedroom, I think. Brandon attached it to the wall so I'll let him take it down. I'll paint it and move it later on...maybe even tonight.

If I have enough paint, I'll paint the hallway, too. It's dark and needs brightening up.

The other morning the coffee pot quit. My first thought was, "I'll tell Danny. He can probably fix it." No. He can't fix it anymore. *sigh* Well, for some reason it started working again so I'll continue to use it until it really does quit completely, then I'll just get another one.

The weather here's been odd, as it has been in most parts of the country. We got a good rainfall yesterday. Temps have been pretty mild. Then today the temp went down and it snowed! Not for long and it didn't stick, but it sure wasn't expected. Now the sun is shining again but it's still chilly.

I'm trying to use up yarns I've had on hand for quite some time now. I'm making a scarf now on the knitting board. Made a large wool shawl the other day and still need to put a fringe on the ends. I did get some cotton yarn used up by making dishcloths with it. I needed a couple more anyway and I figured I might as well make up what I had here. I work with yarn in between my other household duties..mostly. Although sometimes I find it's hard to put the yarn down! Anyway, once I make a sizeable dent in the yarns I have, I'll try doing some painting (craft or art, not walls) or some sewing.

I haven't sewn anything in a long time mainly because a) no time and b) no good place to sew. I was having to put the machine in the kitchen then take it down every meal time. That's pretty discouraging. Maybe now I can start a sewing project and not have to worry about that anymore.

I really want to use my time wisely. We're only give 24 hours a day, and while some of that is for resting, the other is for being productive. I feel like I've been a slug lately, not using my time to the best advantage. Even God tells us to keep our days full, use our time wisely, and be productive. He also admonishes us to not be sluggards! It may be that if I am more productive with the time God gives me, I may see rewards from it.

1 Tim 5:10
Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
KJV

Prov 13:4
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
KJV

Prov 6:9-11
How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
KJV

1 Thess 4:11-12
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
KJV

    Ann,
I know it can't be easy doing this alone and its not how you or Danny pictured your time together but God is with you and will walk beside you. It sounds like you are keeping busy :) Thank you for allowing a peek into your life.
